View from Atlantis

(the final flight)

to explain this from afar
to put your thumb on a star
and block out all light

a satellite from above
seeing earth clearly
with all its pettiness

knowing it is so small
the politics we discuss
the crimes and unjust

the affairs we recycle
continually looping
continually screwing

what we have been given
I block this planet out
with my thumb

one eye closed
one eye open
third eye squinting

to see further than vision
to know true precision
the knowledge inside us all

that knows no limits
that is everywhere at once
that is nowhere as such

the infinite gaze adjusted
needs no glasses
needs no form

a spec of sand in a sea of dark
all its beauty and hate
its destiny we make

a ball of blue
a little green
nothing I have not seen
